Condoleezza Rice comes to BYU

Today BYU had the pleasure to host Condoleezza Rice in the Marriot Center. Her hair was looking fabulous (as usual) but more importantly her words were inspiring and thoughtful. The crowd couldn't help from clapping every few sentences. Here are some of my favorite one liners:

"Today's headlines and history's judgments are not the same"

"Every dictator fears the moment their people no longer fear them"

"Education has the power to transform people and make you into something you could never have been"

"It doesn't matter where you came from. It matters where you're going"

"Integrate knowledge of what is with the knowledge of what might be"

"Find your passion while you're here"

"You might not be able to control your circumstances but you can control your response"

"Whenever I lack enthusiasm I think back to our founding fathers and how many times this country came close to failure, yet exists today"

She was a fabulous public speaker and overall a down to earth woman. If I met her, we would definitely be friends.
